This US silver dollar, minted in 1800, is referred to as the Draped Bust variety. The reason is the obverse design of Liberty. Although not clear, most people attribute this design to Gilbert Stuart.
The Draped Bust silver dollar succeeded the first ever silver dollar minted in the United States – the Flowing Hair dollar.
The reverse of the coin features the heraldic eagle design. We have this coin graded in AU50; any grade in AU is quite scarce.
