A self-directed IRA is a retirement plan that allows you to choose where to invest your IRA money, as permitted under IRS guidelines. With the great tax advantages provided by a self-directed IRA, you can potentially build wealth and secure your future more effectively.

Steps required to open your self-directed IRA:

  1. Depending on the funding method you will be using (contribution, rollover from 401K, or transfer from another IRA), you will need to complete an application.  The links for the application are provided below.  Please make sure to select the correct one.
  2. As part of the application, you will need to sign the Fee Schedule and include it with your application to New Direction IRA.
  3. Completion of a Buy Direction Letter that allows New Direction IRA to transfer funds from your IRA to National Coin Broker for the purchase of precious metals from National Coin Broker.
  4. Open an account at First State Depository for holding the precious metals you purchase for inclusion in your IRA.
